As of January 12, 2022, PUBG is free to play!
Since its debut in 2017 PUBG has been sold as a standalone game for $29.99 (in the US). While PUBG led the way for the Battle Royale craze, the rising popularity of free to play competitors such as Fortnite, Apex Legends and Warzone have led to the developer Krafton (formerly BlueHole) to make the switch.
What About The People Who Paid?
Krafton has perks in store for people who purchased PUBG before the free to play switch.
Introducing PUBG Plus
PUBG Plus is a membership that gives players rewards and access to some features. PUBG Plus is automatically added to accounts that had already purchased the game prior to the switch, and it’s available for everybody else with a one-time payment of $12.99.
PUBG Plus Perks List
- Users with Plus Status are matched only with other Plus Status users in competitive matches.
- Access to private custom matches.
- +100% Boost Survival Mastery XP
- Career – Medal tab
- Access to Ranked Mode
- Limited-edition Plus commemorative outfit items (the first one is called “PUBG – SPECIAL COMMEMORATIVE PACK”).
- Captain’s Camo Hat
- Captain’s Camo Mask
- Captain’s Camo Gloves
- Bonus 1300 G-COIN
The rewards will automatically be added to users’ accounts on their first login after the free-to-play transition.
Thus far, it looks like there’s more to come for PUBG Plus users and we foresee that each new DLC will have special items and perks for PUBG Plus users exclusively.
